Depositary Due Diligence Officer
Your Day-to-Day
• Perform risk-based assessments of Investment Fund Managers and delegated service providers through recurring, thematic, and ad-hoc due diligence reviews.
• Evaluate governance frameworks, operating models, control environments, and key processes to identify areas of potential concern.
• Assess whether existing practices adequately protect investors’ interests and comply with applicable regulatory requirements.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute due diligence assignments from preparation through reporting, including meetings and on-site visits.
• Develop strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and external counterparties to facilitate efficient information gathering and constructive discussions.
• Review operational incidents, control breaches, and identified deficiencies, ensuring relevant findings are reflected in ongoing oversight activities.
• Work closely with various business functions to gain a comprehensive view of operational and regulatory risks.
• Contribute to the evolution of oversight methodologies by proposing process enhancements and best practices.
• Support cross-functional initiatives and participate in projects aimed at strengthening the overall control framework.
• Ensure due diligence programmes remain aligned with the nature, complexity, and risk profile of the entities under review.
• Coordinate and respond to information requests and due diligence exercises initiated by clients and external stakeholders.
Your Profile
• Relevant experience within the investment funds industry, ideally in Depositary Oversight, Operational Due Diligence, Risk, Compliance, Audit, or Fund Governance.
• Solid understanding of the regulatory environment governing investment funds, particularly UCITS and AIFMD frameworks.
• Familiarity with depositary oversight responsibilities and the associated control requirements.
• Ability to interpret regulatory developments and translate them into practical oversight measures.
• Strong interest in regulatory trends, industry developments, and evolving market standards.
• Exposure to alternative investment structures, including Private Equity, Real Estate, Infrastructure, or other Private Capital strategies, would be advantageous.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to assess complex situations, identify risks, and formulate pragmatic recommendations.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with confidence interacting with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Self-driven professional capable of managing priorities independently while maintaining high-quality deliverables.
• Collaborative team player with a proactive approach and a strong sense of accountability.
• Fluent in French and English; additional European languages, particularly German, would be considered a plus.
