SPV Accountant / Senior SPV Accountant
Your day to day
Core responsibilities
- Handle day-to-day accounting and administration of a portfolio of SPVs
- Ensure consistent use of GL accounts and maintain bookkeeping in line with internal policies and Luxembourg GAAP
- Perform balance sheet and P&L reconciliations, including intercompany accounts
- Carry out weekly bank reconciliations of SPV bank accounts
- Prepare quarterly and annual financial reporting packs
- Prepare annual financial statements
- Coordinate and follow up on the annual audit process
- Prepare BCL reports
- Collaborate closely with fund administration, legal and tax teams
- Prepare VAT returns and liaise with third-party providers and/or the internal tax team
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, increase efficiency and reduce risks
- Monitor risk areas and propose corrective measures
- Participate in, contribute to and/or lead projects related to SPV operations
Transaction-related responsibilities
(Primarily applicable at Senior level)
- Collaborate with investment, fund administration, tax, legal and other internal/external teams to ensure smooth execution of investment and divestment transactions
- Support accounting managers in reviewing fund flows and providing required information
- Ensure proper tracking and accounting of all transaction-related activities
- Act as a key point of contact for accounting-related matters across functions, countries and service providers
- Follow up on cash movements and ensure accurate and timely execution
Your profile
- Master’s degree in finance or a related field; a professional accounting qualification is an asset (or in progress)
- At least 2 years of accounting experience for Accountant level; 5+ years for Senior level
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Professional fluency in English
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; knowledge of eFront and Power BI is a plus
- Solid understanding of Luxembourg GAAP
- Ability to develop productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Comfortable working with auditors
- Excellent attention to detail and high quality standards
