Legal
Responsabilities:
- Be the main contact for complex legal matters as well as for the day-to-day client company operations for the local team and internal service provider
- Assist clients through complex legal issues by guiding them on legal and regulatory Luxembourg environment as well as referring to legal advisors where appropriate
- Design, implement and maintain effective internal policies and procedures to manage legal and regulatory requirements on the assigned client portfolio
- Pro-actively work and cooperate with internal service provider to ensure high quality of corporate governance of the assigned client portfolio
- Oversee the deliverables of the corporate-secretarial teams locally and at the internal service provider’s
- Participate in regular service calls with internal service providers and ensure proper documentation and follow-up on issues identified
- Record the working hours/client in the time billing system according to the objectives set
- Review the working hours charged on the assigned client portfolio by the internal service provider’s team, analyse impact on client’s profitability and escalate to the team leader/director when required
- Develop a thorough industry knowledge and understanding of the clients business
- Accept mandates as a board member (where required) in client companies
Coordinate the work of the corporate-secretarial teams locally and at the internal service provider’s:
- Mentor and coach team members in relation to Luxembourg Commercial Companies Law and regulatory requirements
- Monitor workload and efficiency of team members and regularly update the Senior Manager and the Director Client Services
- Build and maintain effective relationships with colleagues across various locations: participate regular service calls, feedback sharing sessions and contribute proactively by suggesting efficiency improvements and monitoring implementation
- Anticipate potential queries/issues and address these in a timely manner
- Ensure that client deadlines are met
- Build up an in-depth knowledge of your portfolio of clients, i.e. background, purpose and structure and share the knowledge with the teams of internal service providers
Skills:
- Completion of legal studies at University level; be a qualified Lawyer who has been admitted to the bar
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of corporate law as well as the legal and administrative requirements and Luxembourg industry regulations
- Minimum of 7 years of experience with a professional services firm
- Strong knowledge of the industry market
- Proactive with a client services orientated attitude
- Leadership and organizational skills
- Ability to solve problems and demonstrate excellent communication skills in a multicultural environment
