Consultant Technical Support & Development Specialist – Shell, SQL, Java

Your Day-to-Day:

  • Support & Incident Management:
    • Provide ongoing technical support for core financial software (e.g., 4Sight, Kondor, and Protocoll).
    • Troubleshoot and resolve incidents promptly, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
    • Collaborate with external hosting providers to manage system performance and ensure the seamless running of applications.
  • Script Development & System Integration:
    • Modify and optimize Solaris shell scripts to ensure compatibility with Linux systems.
    • Develop and maintain SQL queries (Oracle and Sybase) to address evolving business requirements.
    • Enhance Java-based applications, implementing new features and resolving performance issues.
  • Collaboration & Continuous Improvement:
    • Work closely with internal technical teams and business stakeholders to define requirements and develop solutions.
    • Ensure the continuous improvement of systems by monitoring performance and implementing updates.
    • Participate in on-call rotations and emergency support (as required).

Profile:

  • Experience:
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar technical support and development role.
    • Proven track record in supporting and developing financial systems or related applications.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong proficiency in SQL (Oracle, Sybase) for query development and database management.
    • Solid experience with Shell scripting and Java for system modifications and enhancements.
    • Familiarity with source code management tools and practices.
  • Key Competencies:
    • Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues quickly and effectively.
    • Collaboration: Strong teamwork skills, with the ability to communicate across technical and business teams.
